Welcome to our home !

Our L-shaped home features our private residence shown here (built in 1850), and the Guest-wing area (built in 1950) to its right. There is direct access from the Guest-wing to the shared terrace and gardens as well.

Our Garden & Maison

Along the meandering Lot River and surrounded by Cahors appellation vineyards, our garden & 170-year-old home are a haven for relaxation and tranquility. The extensive grounds open to a fruit orchard and direct access to the river. A scenic walking and biking path winds its way to neighboring villages such as Saint Vincent Rive d’Olt to the east and Albas to the west.

In the town of Luzech, a short half mile walk from our retreat, a vibrant center square built upon the site of a navigational canal offers family-owned bakeries, a florist, a butcher and caterer, a pharmacy, and a busy weekly farmer’s market. In the 1950s, the owner of our home (and the village pharmacist) extended the original structure to include the beautiful guest wing. In 2019, we renovated the home, built a new wine and tasting cellar, and continue to tend the property’s lush gardens.

Our Wine Cellar

Our love of nature is inspired each day, not only by the beautiful scenery, but by the grapevines that flourish in the region. A dedicated vigneron, Lucien Dimani tends to his vines and ages his wine in our downstairs wine cellar. It’s an ideal place to learn about the winemaking process and the impact of place and savoir-faire on a wine.

Our Village

Luzech is a small town of around 1,650 inhabitants located in the Quercy region (an old, local name for the region that references the abundant native oak trees) and situated at the heart of Cahors winemaking country. The area has been inhabited since prehistoric times and boasts a rich history.

According to legend, the Impernal of Luzech, a rocky promontory overlooking the Lot River, was the site of the famous fortified camp of Uxellodunum, built by the ancient Gauls and the place of the last revolt against Roman Emperor Julius Cesar. You can actually visit the village’s castle and dungeon of the Oppidum de L’Impernal, an ancient site and beautiful overlook.
